Youth Exchange
Skaters for Europe 2009
- a week that moved us

We, the media group, have documented our week and will keep updating this page with more pictures, videos and reports.

Here are already some first impressions  …

Quotes:

Adil Farhouni: “The youth exchange was one of the best experiences and fun I ever had in rollerblading. It was one week working together with each other and getting to know each other. I made a lot of new interesting contacts and good friends. We had a lot of good skating going on the whole week we were in Berlin. Only to bad marco broke his arm! Next time better marco!
The thing I liked most is all the people we were envolved with, all different nationalities and learning from each others different cultures in the culture capital of Europe! I would really like to go back to Berlin and see a lot more of the unique culture and people that we came accross there. Also Bulgaria would be an interesting place to visit! “

Last time I came to Berlin, it was only skating. I was very interested in the history and culture of Europe and couldn’t wait for the trip to the museum.

Below: How far is it to Sofia? Such a long way to go but still so many things in common …

Normally, I don’t like learning very much. But if you go skating with people from other countries, you learn about the culture and even something about the language and it’s fun!

I did’nt know anything about this program. I want to take the chance to travel abroad for a long time and make more contact and friendship with young people from other countries.

After this event, I have more confidence for travel in foreign countries.

Do it yourself, do it together – building up the ramps together:

This is how people had to leave their home and become migrant. They finally found a new home in a new country, in Berlin, in the center of Europe. This has been happening from the 18th centery, during the World Wars and this is happening now.

So we need a tolerant multi cultural society in Europe and realise that we have live on this world together.
